The validation for the Road Clearing Operations 2.0 in Metro Manila began yesterday, February 16.
DILG-NCR Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn Baltazar-Cortez heads the NCR Regional Validation Team (RVT). She is joined by Department of Public Works and Highways-NCR Assistant Regional Director Juby Cordon, Bureau of Fire Protection-NCR Assistant Regional Director for Operations SSUPT Gary Alto, Metro Manila Development Authority Special Events Operations Head Emmanuel Miro and PMaj Joel Villapaña, Chief, Internal Security Operations Section of the NCRPO.
The RVT started its validation in Valenzuela City and was accompanied by the Valenzuela City Public Office and Safety Group (POSG) and DILG Valenzuela City Field Office.
Validation of all NCR LGUs will run from February 15 to March 5; the validation team uses an assessment tool based on the DILG Guidelines in the inspection.
Three to 10 LGU roads will be inspected by the RVT for road obstructions along or within the selected roads’ entirety.
NCR LGUs are expected to implement a partial implementation of road clearing, following the region’s community quarantine category. Areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) fall under the partial implementation of road clearing as provided in the DILG memorandum.
The road clearing efforts are a follow-through to President Duterte’s order to DILG during his fourth State of the Nation Address to oversee the actions taken by the LGUs in clearing road obstructions reclaiming public roads. #
