National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) key personnel assigned in the National Capital Region for the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB) Program paid a visit in DILG-NCR.
NAPC Regional and Provincial Focal Persons (RFPs / PFPs) Alexcsandria Dela Cruz, George Mapile Jr., Rafael Cañeda, Noel Salen, and Gaylord Despuez met with Regional Poverty Reduction Action Team-NCR (RPRAT-NCR) Chair DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin and key DILG-NCR personnel to be acquainted with their roles and responsibilities, as well as the status of BuB implementation in NCR.
The said NAPC focal persons were elected among civil society organizations (CSOs) to represent basic sectors in RPRAT-NCR, which is composed of national government agencies mandated to implement the projects funded through the Bottom-Up Budgeting program (BuB), and is tasked to make decision on implementation issues raised at the regional level. The team is also responsible in providing technical support and guidance to LGUs.
As part of NAPC, the said focal persons will monitor the implementation of anti-poverty programs and projects including the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) program and BuB, help respond and/or refer all AM and BuB related grievance and redress concerns through proper channels and strengthen basic sector and civil society organization participation and capacity building in the AM and BuB process.
Both BuB and AM are anti-poverty programs lodged with the DILG that aims to provide assistance in development programs and projects in localities.
