The DILG-NCR, through its Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formalizing its participation in the inter-regional linkage among the LGRRCs of DILG-Region III, DILG-CALABARZON, DILG-MIMAROPA, and DILG-NCR. The ceremony was held on May 12, 2023, at Eurotel North Edsa, Quezon City.

The partnership, officially called the “Establishment of a Merger Roadmap and Guidelines for Empowered LGRRCs,” or EMERGE is envisioned as a vehicle to promote and foster collaboration among parties in the area of knowledge management. It will do so by conducting regular knowledge exchange activities and other joint undertakings that will advance public governance and administration.

Executive Director Thelma Vecina, CESO III of the Local Government Academy (LGA), through her Keynote Message, emphasized the important role of the Regional LGRRCs in the promotion of knowledge management and its role as the working principle of the DILG Local Government Academy.

On behalf of their respective LGRRCs, the MOU was signed by DILG-NCR Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO V, DILG MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Rey S. Maranan, CESO V, DILG Region III Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza, CESO V and DILG CALABARZON Provincial Director John M. Cerezo.

Regional Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando, CESO III, of DILG MIMAROPA, also graced the event and witnessed the signing.

Through EMERGE, the DILG-NCR shall be able to leverage its resources, strengths, and capacities to accelerate the implementation of DILG’s programs, projects, and activities through collective action and drive local governance to higher levels of creativity and innovation.
