The first in a series of peer-to-peer knowledge exchanges entitled “Digital Transformation on Demand” was held on February 23, 2023 via Zoom.

The first session was called “Can Do with Canva” and delivered by resource persons: Data Analyst Fritz John D. Gabrinez and Information Officer III Maria Rosario L. Insigne. Mr. Gabrinez covered the technical aspects, navigation, and features of Canva while Ms. Insigne gave an overview of the design principles pertinent to creating presentations and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials.

The “Digital Transformation on Demand” series is an initiative of the Multi-media, Knowledge and Information (MMKI) facility of the Local Government Regional Resource Center – National Capital Region (LGRRC-NCR), which aims to upskill DILG-NCR personnel in the use of digital tools in preparation for an increasingly digitized work environment. The series will run until the end of CY 2023 and feature monthly tutorials.

The session was delivered virtually to ninety-two employees from various DILG-NCR operating units, who were encouraged to use the tool in creating presentations and content, given that the Regional Office has subscribed to Canva Premium for widespread use in the organization.

DILG-NCR Assistant Regional Director Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO V, and Program Manager of the LGRRC-NCR, affirmed the importance of being digitally current by saying, “…let’s embark together on this digital journey starting today and make DILG-NCR future-ready and totally conversant with the language and idioms of the digital world.”

The next tutorial will cover “Records Management and Online Filing System,” scheduled on March 2023.
