The DILG-NCR led a series of orientation meetings for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Field Focal Persons, and Cluster Heads in connection with the conduct of the CY 2022 assessments for the SGLG program. All of the aforementioned groups are members of the Regional Assessment Teams (RATs).

For the Cluster Heads, the SGLG orientation was held on March 22, 2022, while for CSOs, the same was held on April 5, 2022. The CSOs, in particular, were familiarized with the SGLG governance areas as well as the forms and mechanisms involved in the implementation of SGLG for CY 2022.

For the joint orientation held on March 31, 2022 with both the Cluster Heads and SGLG Focal Persons in attendance, LGMED Chief Raymond de Asis and Section Chief Marda Acoba re-acquainted the SGLG field officers with the technical notes accompanying the assessment process. The assessment schedule and cross-validation assignments were also finalized during the same meeting in anticipation of the Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) that may be rolled out during the week.

All members of the RATs were reminded to protect the credibility and integrity of the SGLG process at all times and ensure that the program is implemented effectively and efficiently.

DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin and Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn Baltazar-Cortez affirmed that the onboarding measures for the SGLG will further ingrain good governance principles in government operations and thus bring about better quality performance and outcomes.
