As a follow-on activity to the orientation webinar on the Omnibus Guidelines in the Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects held last June 17, 2021, the DILG-NCR organized a teleconference focused specifically on SubayBAYAN, an online, real-time monitoring system for projects funded under the Assistance to Local Government Units – Local Government Support Fund (ALGU-LGSF) that is accessible to both governmental stakeholders and the general public.
The objective of the event was to urge all concerned personnel at the local and regional levels to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the workings of the SubayBAYAN system and utilize it to improve their project monitoring and management operations.
The teleconference was held on July 30, 2021, and participated in by City/Municipal engineering and technical staff. DILG-NCR Field Office Focal Persons for LGSF were also in attendance. Subject matter experts from the DILG-Office of Project Development Services provided a live demonstration of the SubayBAYAN system.
R.D. Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, Regional Director for DILG-NCR, opened the teleconference by highlighting the critical role of technology-driven solutions such as SubayBAYAN in advancing transparency and accountability in government operations. She reminded everyone in attendance that ensuring that public funds are spent prudently is every taxpayer’s business, emphasizing that this is of dual interest to public servants: first in fulfillment of their oaths of office, and second, in consideration of the taxes they are also paying to the government. #
