As the National Capital Region and the rest of the country grapple with the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant and the rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases it has caused, DILG-NCR gears up to sustain its efforts to improve public service delivery in light of the upcoming 2022 National and Local Elections and the full devolution of certain national government functions to local government units as a result of the Supreme Court Ruling on the Mandanas-Garcia Petition.

DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, and OIC-Assistant Regional Director, Atty. Ana Lyn Baltazar-Cortez, CESO V, spearheaded the e-Kamustahan consultative sessions with the divisions and operating units of the DILG-NCR Regional Office from January 10-13, 2022. The sessions were attended by all personnel from the Office of the Regional Director (ORD), Local Government Capacity Development Division (LGCDD), Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), Finance and Administrative Division (FAD), and the respective operating sections and units under them.

The executive management solicited recommendations from the people in charge of implementing the programs and performing the services DILG-NCR is responsible for, particularly on which areas the organization should improve on. One of the main agreements was for all operating units to contribute to improving online systems and records management in preparation for the anticipated activities this year.

These online sessions also serve as a virtual checkpoint for all personnel, to help boost their morale to carry on despite the risks they are exposed to daily in pursuit of promoting more effective local governance in Metro Manila.
