The DILG-NCR entry was awarded the best feature story in the recently concluded Kuwentong Listo V Virtual Writeshop. The article featured best practices in six areas of intervention undertaken by NCR LGUs in their respective efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

These areas include use of technology, local mobilization, physical facilities, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaigns, enforcement action, and incentives.

The writeshop was organized by the DILG Public Affairs and Communication Services (PACS), which invited submissions from all DILG Regional Offices nationwide. This year’s theme is “Tenacity Amid the Pandemic: LGUs’ Best Practices vs. COVID-19”.

The writeshop was held for three non-consecutive days that started on September 30, 2021, and ended on October 8, 2021. During the inclusive period, the Information Officers and Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA) focal persons of all 17 regions were briefed by resource persons on what is expected of them by way of content. They were also provided pointers as to how best to approach the feature writing assignment. Information Officer Maria Rosario Insigne, represented DILG-NCR in the activity.

The feature stories taken up in the writeshop shall be included in the ‘Kuwentong Listo V’ magazine to be published in December 2021.
