The 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Discourse was held last May 2, 2023 via Zoom, with DILG-NCR Field Office personnel and operations officers in attendance.
In her opening remarks, Assistant Regional Director Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO V, commended the field officers for their continuing efforts to update local government units (LGUs) on the implementation of the SGLG for this year.
The DILG-NCR’s Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) Chief Raymond de Asis gave a brief background regarding the previously held national orientation on the SGLG and how everyone on board is expected to level up to this year’s SGLG performance standards.
Statistician I Mary Jane Achas introduced the new indicators developed for this year’s SGLG implementation; while SGLG Regional Focal Person Marda Alina R. Dumaoang-Acoba explained the timelines, outputs, and responsibilities of the parties involved in the said implementation.
Through the Regional Discourse, field officers were given a platform to air their queries and concerns – responses and feedback for which are to be presented in a future meeting.
Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III closed the activity by encouraging the field officers involved in the many ongoing performance audits to do their utmost to ensure the success of each, including this year’s SGLG program. She also stressed the importance of programs such as the SGLG in elevating the LGUs’ competencies in furtherance of their sustainable development goals.
