Through its Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), DILG-NCR facilitated the orientation on the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards Information System (LTIA IS) last March 2 in Quezon City.

LTIA is a joint program of the DILG and the Department of Justice (DOJ), which aims to highlight the role of the lupong tagapamayapa in communities and their resourcefulness in resolving cases under the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) or barangay justice system.

LTIA IS is a web-based application developed by the DILG Information System and Technology Management Services that facilitates the encoding, assessment, ranking, and selection of LTIA awardees.

Through the LTIA IS, it is expected that the assessment of qualified lupong tagapamayapa will be made more accessible, given the limitations set by the pandemic.

DILG NCR Information Technology Officer Lennie Yap discussed the system’s features and gave the LTIA Focal Persons of the 17 field offices a walkthrough. Data Administrator John Mark Vergara led Hands-on exercises to familiarize focal persons with the system further.

In her welcome remarks, Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin noted that through systems such as LTIA IS, the department could bring time-honored traditions to the digital age and the new normal.

The LTIA IS will be utilized for the 2019-2020 assessment period. Lupong Tagapamayapas are assessed based on the following criteria: efficiency in operation, effectiveness in securing the settlement of interpersonal dispute objective of the Katarungang Pambarangay, creativity and resourcefulness of the Lupong Tagapamayapa, area of the facility for KP activities, and financial or non-financial support. #
