The Commission on Audit (COA) â Audit Group A of the DILG, conducted a Virtual Entrance Audit Conference with the Department of the Interior and Local Government â National Capital Region on September 22, 2021. This was in compliance with the implementation of the Commissionâs Financial Audit Manual (FAM).
The entrance conference aimed to lay down what is expected from the management in regard to various accounts and operations within the covered audit period. It also served as an avenue for the management and the audit team to provide information and updates on the procedural requirements to ensure that government funds are judiciously spent, consistent with existing laws.
Ms. Editha P. Montañano, Audit Team Leader, presented the legal bases, the objectives and scope of the audit. She discussed the terms and conditions cited in the COAâs engagement with the DILG-NCR, important concerns relative to the audit of the accounts and operations for Calendar Year 2021 and the agencyâs financial management performance.
Auditor Montañano reminded the agency of its responsibilities to provide the audit team with copies of the DILG-NCR plans, and reports such as the updated Physical Property and Equipment (PPE) inventories, Annual Procurement Plan, Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget, Accomplishment Reports as well as the policies and guidelines in program/project implementation and other required documents.
RD Agustin expressed her gratitude to Ms. MontaÅano and her team for their continued guidance especially on matters that are vague to the management. ARD Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO V also thanked the team and assured them of the timely submission of financial documents and the correctness, accuracy and reliability of the same.
The conference was attended by RD Agustin, ARD Atty. Baltazar-Cortez, Division Chiefs and key personnel from the Office of the Regional Director, Finance and Administrative Division (FAD), Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) and Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED).
