The Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) officially started its Fiscal Year 2025 with its Planning Conference on January 21, 2025, at the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

In her keynote message, Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III celebrated the Department’s key milestones and accomplishments in CY 2024. She acknowledged the tireless efforts and dedication of the DILG-NCR in consistently improving the delivery of programs and services to better meet the needs of partner stakeholders and communities.

To sustain the gains harvested by the DILG-NCR in the previous year, particularly the awarding of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) to the 14 Local Government Units in the National Capital Region, the attainment of PRIME-HRM Level II, the awards received under the SubayBAYANI Program, the championing in the two categories of CapDev Ace Most Significant Change (MSC) of Local Government Academy (LGA), and the pioneering of the CSO Academy in Pasig City, the DILG-NCR set out its current strategies by mapping targets with its Regional and Field Office Planning Officers.

The planning conference also focused on the discussion of priority programs of DILG-NCR, aligned with the UNITE Agenda under the Department’s Strategic Plan 2023-2028, as well as an evaluation of the accomplishments and gaps in the implementation of programs in the previous years.

Key priority programs identified during the conference include the intensified efforts to reach a 100% physical and financial accomplishment for FY 2025, the improvement of system efficiency through launching of digital portals such as the Legal CARES, the CapDev Registry and the Human Resource Management System, the increased number of SGLG passers, and the mainstreaming of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Program of the local government units. Ultimately, the Department also continues to commit to ensuring a peaceful, safe and orderly conduct of the National and Local Elections.

The DILG-NCR pledges to enhance service delivery, develop guidelines for local development planning, and ensure that all strategies are responsive to the community’s needs. By building on this collaborative framework, the Department aims to further strengthen its efforts toward creating sustainable and impactful governance in the National Capital Region.
