The Department of the Interior and Local Government â National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) through the Center for the Advancement of Local Governance (CALG) conducted its commitment ceremony via zoom on February 2, 2022 with all the members present.
The ceremony highlighted the roles and functions of the five CALG facilities: Capacity Development, Multi-media Knowledge and Information, Linkage, Public Education on Good Governance, Development and Citizenship, and Civic Innovation. Most importantly, the event underscored the regionâs effort to build a more participative and knowledge-centric CALG for 2022.
CALG Adviser and DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III encouraged all CALG Members to do their best in carrying out the mandate of the CALG to promote better local governance.
The leads of the different CALG facilities discussed their respective functions, membership structures, and work plans for the year.
CALG Program Manager and ARD Baltazar-Cortez encouraged the CALG team to continuously imbibe the highest level of commitment and passion in their work and push for the betterment of CALG and the prompt implementation of the work plans presented.
âWith this commitment ceremony which showed the unwavering support of all CALG members and the unfolding of the work plans for 2022, it is hoped that together, CALG can be more, do more, and can reach unimaginable heights of wins this year 2022, para sa bayan!â
The CALG, which officially launched in November 2021 with the establishment of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board and the ceremonial signing by its members, is an innovation which aims to ensure the continuous delivery of responsive capability building interventions to NCR local government units that promote the advancement of local governance in the region.
