The DILG-NCR Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Team conducted an inspection of Seal of Good Local Governance-Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF) projects last January 30 and February 13, 2023, at Barangays Tanza 2, Tunasan, and 176, more commonly known as Barangay Bagong Silang, in the cities of Navotas, Muntinlupa, and Caloocan, respectively. Representing the DILG NCR Regional Team were LGOO III Engr. Nicholas Ray Badiable from the Local Government Capability Development, Statistician I Mary Jane Achas from the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division, and LGOO III Ronald Portales from the Public Information Unit of the Office of the Regional Director.
Joining the DILG NCR Regional Team in assisting the local functionaries during the inspection were LGOO III Nicole Pama of DILG Navotas, LGOO V James Christopher Fadrilan of DILG Muntinlupa, and LGOO III Dei Tality of DILG Caloocan. The SGLG-IF projects monitored by the Regional Team at the inspection activity were the (1) improvement of open space in the pocket park located at Phase 4, Package 9A, Block 97, Bagong Silang Resettlement Project in the City of Caloocan, the (2) construction of a greenhouse in Barangay Tanza 2 of the City of Navotas, and the (3) creation of a cycling and skating recreational park in Barangay Tunasan in the City of Muntinlupa. In the said activity, the LGOOs informed the representatives of the LGU in making necessary corrections and kept track of the documentary submissions of the LGUs which is pertinent to the project completion phase of the SGLG-IF.
The monitoring of the SGLG-IF projects is part of a series of field visits wherein the DILG Regional Team is expected to conduct regular monitoring and inspection of the progress of the projects under the Seal of Good Local Governance. A national SGLG-IF Management Team from the DILG Central Office will also conduct a second monitoring, evaluation, and spot-checking of the said project at the end of the quarter.
