The DILG National Capital Region, through the Gender and Development Focal Point System Committee on Sports and Physical Fitness, launched health and wellness initiatives, “Inat Ka!” and “Alas-Stretching” to help improve mobility and promote an active lifestyle in the workplace.

Inat Ka! is held every Monday morning during the flag raising ceremony wherein an operating unit or section in the DILG Regional Office (currently hosting the flag raising ceremony) leads a five-minute stretching exercise before the official reporting of activities and announcements.

Alas-Stretching (which is a wordplay of the terms “alas tres” and “stretch”) is a daily 5-minute routine where all DILG-NCR employees are encouraged to join in performing flexibility exercises which include simple dance workouts and warm-up stretching exercises as demonstrated through the LED monitors in all workstations. A real-time guide of the Alas-Stretching routine can be accessed live by the personnel from different field offices via the DILG-NCR Official Employees Facebook group.

The Department aims to promote health and wellness in the workplace by incorporating stretching exercises into daily routines to enhance flexibility, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being of DILG-NCR employees.
