The DILG National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) was recognized as the Best Regional Office (First Place) in the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Maaasahang Katuwang sa Pamamalakad Awards, December 17, 2024 at The Manila Prince Hotel.
The Best Regional Office Award is given in recognition of the DILG-NCR’s commitment and dedication in performing its roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the SGLG for CY 2024.
Likewise, LGOO VI and Local Government Accountability and Transparency Evaluation Section (LGATES) Chief Marda Alina R. Dumaoang-Acoba was recognized as the Best SGLG Regional Focal Person (First Place).
Regional Offices and Focal Persons were assessed based on the quality, completeness, and timely submission of project ouputs during the regional assessment, calibration, and national validation, as well outputs on policy feedback and well-established coordination and active participation throughout the various stages of the 2024 SGLG implementation.
The DILG-NCR’s fulfillment of these various criteria proved instrumental in ensuring compliance of NCR LGUs to the SGLG assessment which led to the historic fourteen (14) 2024 SGLG awardees in the NCR.
Director Debie T. Torres, CESO IV of the Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS), together with Chief Melany F. Quiton and Assistant Division Chief Charles Anthony Vega of the Local Governance Performance Management Division (LGPMD), presented the awards which were received by Raymond Gerard E. De Asis, Chief of the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (Division), LGOO VI/Section Chief Marda Alina R. Dumaoang-Acoba, and LGOO III Keenu Louise T. Lopez, on behalf of the DILG-NCR.
“The Katuwang sa Pamamalakad Award is a testament of the DILG-NCR Regional and Field Offices commitment and dedication not only in ensuring the effective implementation of the SGLG Program but also in guiding our Local Government Units in upholding excellence in local governance in Metro Manila,” LGMED Chief De Asis emphasized.
The DILG NCR achieved a significant milestone for the 2024 SGLG as fourteen (14) LGUs were conferred the highly-coveted SGLG, marking a significant chapter in the DILG-NCR’s ten-year’s journey of promoting excellence in local governance.
