The Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR), through the Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation (MBCRP) Program, successfully concluded the final leg of the 2025 LGU Compliance Assessment with a feedbacking session held on May 27–28, 2025, at the Philippine Public Safety College in Quezon City.
Attended by the Regional Inter-Agency Committee (RIAC) onsite and the 17 NCR LGUs via Zoom, the activity marked the official conclusion and validation of 2024 LGU performance and compliance across three critical clusters: Solid Waste Management, Liquid Waste Management, and Informal Settler Families Management.
The session provided technical feedback, highlighted areas for improvement, and offered tailored recommendations to guide LGUs moving forward. It also reinforced the shared responsibility and inter-agency collaboration needed to restore and rehabilitate the Manila Bay.
In her closing message, LGMED Division Chief Ana Jury H. Castillo emphasized unity and continuous improvement.
“Our collective intent – our unified purpose – is what fuels our success. Let us continue to strengthen our partnership, refine our approaches, and move forward together toward a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Manila Bay,” Division Chief Castillo mentioned.
With the final leg of the assessment completed, the DILG-NCR reaffirms its commitment to empowering LGUs and enhancing inter-agency coordination to ensure sustained progress in rehabilitating Manila Bay.
