More than 2,000 residents from flood-affected communities in Malabon received free healthcare services and government assistance during a medical and service caravan held on July 29, 2025. The initiative was spearheaded by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos under the “Lab for All” program, a flagship national effort aimed at improving healthcare access in underserved areas across the country.

The event was marked by strong inter-agency collaboration and local support. Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla attended the caravan, voicing his full support for the program and emphasizing the importance of seamless coordination between national and local government units. Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval warmly welcomed the First Lady and attending officials, expressing gratitude for the assistance extended to her constituents. Also present were DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, DILG Malabon City Director Jess Marie A. Acoba, CESE, and representatives from the DILG Navotas Field Office.

Held at the Malabon City Sports Center, “Lab for All” provided free medical and dental consultations, diagnostic services including chest X-rays and electrocardiograms (ECGs), laboratory tests, and routine immunizations. Residents also received on-site support from multiple government agencies. Philhealth offered registration assistance, the Public Attorney’s Office provided legal consultations, the Pag-IBIG Fund assisted in the provision of housing loans and loyalty card applications, and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office gave financial aid.

Local government officials, healthcare professionals, and volunteers played a vital role in organizing and delivering the services, ensuring smooth operations and efficient care for attendees. Many residents, still recovering from the recent flooding, welcomed the aid and praised the program’s timeliness and impact.

The “Lab for All” caravan is a collaborative effort involving the Office of the First Lady, the Department of Health (DOH), DILG, and other national agencies. It continues to roll out in cities and provinces across the country, bringing free healthcare and public service closer to the people.
