In continuation of the BRAVE AKO rollout in Quezon City, participants engaged in various lectures and simulation workshops under Module 104 of the training program on August 5, 2025, at Ardenhills Suites, Scout Albano, Quezon City.

Psychosocial Care Specialist and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Consultant Thelma S. Barrera, RN, MHPNS V presented key concepts and action principles on providing Psychological First Aid (PFA). To further gauge learning, the trainees participated in a role-playing activity demonstrating appropriate responses to distressed individuals, thus reinforcing the importance of empathy, active listening, clear communication, and proper referral.

This was followed by a discussion on Basic Life Support (BLS), spearheaded by First Aid Trainers Karen G. Santiago, Jose Marie M. Galang, and Radames Kahlil M. Montalvo. The session enabled participants to practice techniques in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) through hands-on exercises.

The Barangay Resilience Advocates Volunteer Group – Advanced Knowledge and Operations (BRAVE AKO) Training Program Rollout in Quezon City was conducted from August 4 to 6, 2025, capacitating 19 barangays to prepare for the risks associated with the anticipated 7.2 magnitude earthquake from the West Valley Fault System, commonly referred to as “The Big One.”
