
Barangay officials, emergency and rescue volunteers, and sectoral representatives from the City of Pasig officially completed the BRAVE AKO Training Rollout on July 31, 2025, concluding the three-day training with Module 105: Basics of Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), and Protection of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Social Welfare Officers III Angelica Mae P. Espino, RSW and Mary Rose B. Taganap, RSW of the Disaster Response Operations Management Division under the Department of Social Welfare and Development facilitated the said module. Specifically, the discussion covered relevant concepts and policies on CCCM and IDP protection, stressing the necessity of adhering to operational guidelines and upholding minimum quality standards to enhance disaster response effectiveness.
To formally close the training, DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III commended the participants for their active participation throughout the duration of the program. She expressed hope that the knowledge and skills acquired during the training would serve as a firm foundation for more effective local planning and efficient service delivery within their respective communities.
“Sa ating pagbabalik sa kanya-kanya nating mga komunidad, nawa’y higit nating palalimin ang ating kamalayan, pag-ibayuhin ang ating pagpaplano, at paigtingin ang ating kolektibong pagkilos para sa kahandaan at katatagan ng bawat Pasigueño,” said RD Agustin.
The BRAVE AKO Training Program Rollout in the City of Pasig ran from July 29 to 31, 2025, equipping a total of 77 participants from 20 barangays situated within the one-kilometer buffer hazard zone of the West Valley Fault System. Through a series of lectures and interactive workshops, the training served as a critical platform for strengthening the capacities of local leaders and community stakeholders in disaster risk reduction and resilience-building.
