Participants from the City of Pasig gained essential knowledge and practical skills for proactive disaster response during the second day of the BRAVE AKO Training Program held on July 30, 2025, at Astoria Plaza, City of Pasig.

First Aid Trainers Karen G. Santiago and Jose Marie M. Galang of the Philippine Red Cross facilitated the first session under Module 104, providing foundational knowledge on Basic Life Support (BLS), including Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

As part of the training, participants actively engaged in hands-on drills, practicing CPR techniques and learning how to respond to Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) incidents—more commonly known as choking.

Following this, Psychosocial Care Specialist and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Consultant Thelma S. Barrera, RN, MHPNS V led the second half of Module 104, which focused on the basics of Psychological First Aid (PFA). The session highlighted practical approaches to supporting individuals in need of urgent psychosocial support and offered participants a broader understanding of the importance of promoting community mental well-being in the aftermath of crisis situations.

The BRAVE AKO Training Program Rollout in the City of Pasig commenced on July 29, 2025, and concluded on July 31, 2025. The three-day rollout was conducted in line with the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month, further reinforcing the Department’s commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and resilience at the community level.
