Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez is the youngest Career Executive of DILG-NCR.
She rose exceptionally through the ranks and has been applauded for her numerous accomplishments for the undertakings that she led for effective local governance.
Among the notable results of her efforts as City Director is the conferment of the Seal of Good Local Governance to Caloocan for four consecutive years, and to Quezon City in 2018.
Her leadership of the DILG Quezon City Field Office and cordial relations with the LGU has been instrumental in the numerous citations received by the Quezon City Government, among which are the Gawad Kalasag for Highly Urbanized Cities, the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards, top performance of its Local Peace and Order and Anti-Drug Abuse Councils, and the distinguished implementation of the Manila Bay Clean up, Rehabilitation and Preservation program.
She is also instrumental in the enactment of ordinances to institutionalize good local governance measures such as Quezon City’s protocols on the Management of the Dead and Missing, a key component in disaster risk reduction and management which became a blueprint for the issuance of a national policy on DRRM, and the reforms on the Quezon City Barangay Seal of Good Housekeeping or QCBSGH to further push for excellence in barangay governance.
These efforts have been recognized as DILG Quezon City Field Office became a finalist in the Bugkos ng Bayan category of CAPDev Ace, the highest recognition given by the DILG to its exemplary personnel who champions its vision for LGUs.
Atty. Baltazar-Cortez is also regarded as one of the legal luminaries of DILG-NCR, providing guidance to the regional management and mentorship to younger LGOOs on the different facets of local governance.
