DILG-NCR earlier today met with the Commission on Higher Education, spearheaded by Executive Director Atty. Cinderella Filipina S. Benitez-Jaro, for a virtual discussion and benchmarking session on the DILG-NCR Safety Seal Certification (SSC) Program Portal.
As provided by IATF Resolution No. 87, which aims to curtail and contain the spread of COVID-19 in all business establishments and government offices, issuing authorities are tasked to ensure the compliance of establishments to the minimum public health standards and the adoption of the StaySafe.ph contact tracing application.
In pursuit of a safer learning environment among the 1,700 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) nationwide and as part of their preparation for the resumption of face-to-face classes, CHED is applying to be a certifying body for the seal’s conferment.
DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin thanked the CHED for their efforts to expand the SSC Program to cover HEIs and shared that the DILG-NCR is ready to provide the necessary assistance to create a safe and healthy learning environment for students.
PriSMS Chief Adrian Lopez and RICTU personnel John Mark Vergara walked through the online SSC portal and discussed specific technical concerns related to the portal. LGOO V Marda Dumaoang-Acoba also shared field experiences in using the SSC portal, including the review and validation of the applications and the issuance of the certification.
