The DILG National Capital Region held its annual PRAISE PAGTANAW Awards 2025 at the Forest Crest Nature Hotel and Resort at Nasugbu, Batangas on June 20, 2025. In attendance were the DILG personnel from the regional and field offices of the National Capital Region.

During the opening of the awards ceremony, Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III gave special recognition to every employee, from deadline-driven desk personnel and field responders to behind-the-scenes support staff and empathetic leaders, emphasizing human-interest stories which serve as the foundation of the Department’s success.

“Every story we tell, whether of late nights, storms faced, or quiet mentorship, adds human meaning behind our policies. You are champions of change. Tonight, we share the successes of every DILG-NCR employee who faced constant challenges in leading the team to success and accomplishments. Thank you for choosing the DILG National Capital Region,” Regional Director Agustin exclaimed, underscoring the transformative power of these narratives that led to the DILG-NCR reaching new heights in the past year.

The PRAISE PAGTANAW 2025 ceremony celebrated 36 DILG-NCR employees for their unwavering loyalty to the Department. Recently retired Cluster Head LGOO VII Mercedes S. Tuico was honored with the 2025 Life Achievement Award. Also, 28 newly-hired DILG-NCR personnel were welcomed in the ceremony, formally introducing them to the current roster of public servants in the National Capital Region and marking their official entry into the Department.

During the conferment of awards, 14 personnel from technical and administrative operations were honored for their commendable efforts, while six DILG-NCR field offices received recognition for their exceptional contributions to on-site and fieldwork operations. The 2025 Leadership award was bestowed to DILG Pasig City Director Visitacion C. Martinez, CESO V.

In closing, Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO IV highlighted the commendable traits of the DILG-NCR personnel in being public servants:

“Indeed, the excellence that DILG-NCR personnel demonstrated over the past year goes beyond mere compliance with responsibilities. Rather, it serves as a testament to two things you have and continue to espouse, which is passion and compassion. Passion for service, and compassion for the people,” Assistant Regional Director Baltazar-Cortez mentioned.

As the PRAISE PAGTANAW Awards 2025 drew to a close, the DILG-NCR personnel witnessed the spirit of dedication and commitment through the individual and collective achievements in the Department. With renewed inspiration and a strengthened sense of purpose, the DILG-NCR family looks forward to continuing its journey of impactful public service, turning challenges into opportunities for the communities they serve.
