The Regional Peace and Order Council-NCR (RPOC-NCR) has initiated a series of dialogues with legislators to seek support for peace and order initiatives in the nation’s capital.
RPOC-NCR Chair Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, Vice Chair PNP NCR Police Office (NCRPO) Police Director Oscar Albayalde, Head of Secretariat DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin, then Bureau of Fire Protection-NCR (BFP-NCR) Regional Director Wilberto Neil Kwan Tiu, current BFP-NCR Regional Director Roel Jeremy Diaz, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-NCR (BJMP-NCR) Regional Director Romeo Elisan Jr., and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-NCR (PDEA-NCR) Regional Director Wilkins Villanueva, met with NCR solons and their representatives in a series of meetings.
The Council presented the current situation in agencies involved in peace and order to solicit support from the legislative branch in enhancing security and public safety, in line with national government’s campaign against criminality, illegal drugs and extremism.
These include plans for strengthening local public safety institutions collaboration for resilience and development, as well as justice and penology system concerns.
Officials from DILG, PNP, BFP and BJMP assigned in the different NCR districts also presented their respective accomplishments, as well as their wish lists that will augment their capabilities in serving the public. Representatives from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Task Force-NCR (JTF-NCR) also joined the dialogues.
The dialogues also became venues in tackling concerns of the lawmakers in their LGUs.
