Quezon City has been conferred the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PACFMC) under Highly Urbanized Cities (HUC) Category, during the National Awarding held on December 22, 2025, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City.

The PACFMC honors outstanding local government units (LGUs) that demonstrate exemplary performance in upholding and advancing the rights, protection, development, and participation of children through inclusive, sustainable, and child-friendly governance. The Presidential Award signifies Quezon City’s consistent and institutionalized efforts in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children across all communities.

This recognition underscores the city’s strong implementation of child-focused policies and programs, including initiatives on child protection, health and nutrition, education, participation, and social services. These efforts are reinforced by effective governance mechanisms and strengthened through multi-sectoral partnerships.

Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte expressed her gratitude to the CWC for the recognition, emphasizing that the award reflects the collective efforts of the city government, barangay officials, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders who work together to ensure that every child in Quezon City is protected, heard, and given opportunities to thrive.

This achievement further affirms Quezon City’s unwavering commitment to building a truly child-friendly city where every child is valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
