The City Government of Mandaluyong has brought pride to the National Capital Region after being declared the National Winner in the Highly Urbanized City Category of the 2025 Local Legislative Awards, presented during the 2026 Philippine Councilors League National Congress held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, Vice Mayor Anthony Suva, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod formally received the Award of Recognition. With the city’s outstanding legislative performance in crafting transformative and people-centered local policies that promote sustainable development and improved public service delivery, Mandaluyong has earned a fitting distinction.
In the same event, Quezon City was conferred the prestigious Hall of Fame Award in the LLA, recognizing the outstanding legislative performance of the 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd Quezon City Sangguniang Panlungsod Councils.
This historic recognition follows Quezon City’s three consecutive national wins in the Highly Urbanized City Category of the Local Legislative Awards in 2015, 2018, and 2022, ultimately earning the city a place in the LLA Hall of Fame.
The Local Legislative Award recognizes exemplary local legislative bodies that demonstrate outstanding performance in the formulation of ordinances and resolutions that significantly contribute to the holistic development of their communities.
The achievements of Mandaluyong City and Quezon City in local legislation stand as a testament to the continued dedication of their local leaders in advancing responsive governance, and the DILG–NCR remains committed to supporting and empowering the region’s local sanggunians in strengthening legislative performance for the people.
These milestones for the National Capital Region will surely be remembered in the books of its continuing journey toward excellence in local governance.
