The Joint Regional Task Force–National Capital Region (JRTF-NCR) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inter-agency convergence, community engagement, peace and security, and socio-economic development through sustained coordination among government agencies, local government units (LGUs), sectoral organizations, and other stakeholders on September 24, 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria, Ortigas, Pasig City.
Underscoring the national government’s steadfast support, Usec. Marlo L. Iringan, Undersecretary for Local Government, represented Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla in lending his support to the Task Force’s continuing endeavors. His participation reflects the Department’s enduring commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation and advancing a whole-of-government approach toward achieving the shared goals of the JRTF-NCR and serving the people of the National Capital Region.
The JRTF-NCR Secretariat, led by Head Secretariat of JRTF-NCR, Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, Regional Director of DILG-NCR, continues to serve as a vital force in advancing unity, coordination, and convergence among member-agencies and valued partners. Through their collective leadership and unwavering commitment, the Secretariat continues to foster a culture of collaboration, ensuring that the shared mandate of the Task Force is pursued with purpose, resolve, and a strong sense of public service.
The JRTF-NCR further underscored the vital and indispensable role of Local Government Units (LGUs) as key partners in translating regional priorities and national government initiatives into meaningful and responsive actions at the local level. Recognizing that sustainable peace, development, and community resilience are strengthened through effective local governance, the Task Force emphasized the need to further empower and engage LGUs in advancing initiatives that are responsive to the distinct needs and realities of their respective communities.
In this regard, the strengthening and revitalization of local task forces were highlighted as critical measures toward institutionalizing stronger coordination, collaboration, and convergence among local government offices, national government agencies, law enforcement and security institutions, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. By revitalizing these local mechanisms, LGUs are better positioned to facilitate timely information-sharing, harmonize programs and interventions, address emerging concerns, and ensure that government efforts are carried out in a more coordinated and sustained manner.
In his message of guidance, NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Undersecretary Danilo G. Pamonag highlighted the sustained cooperation among national government agencies, LGUs, sectoral organizations, and other stakeholders. He underscored the importance of convergence in addressing community needs through programs covering livelihood and employment, education, health, environmental protection, peace and security, strategic communications, and reintegration.
Towards the end of the meeting, JRTF-NCR Head Secretariat Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, expressed her appreciation to the members of the JRTF-NCR for their continued commitment and collective efforts in maintaining peace and order in the National Capital Region. She recognized the contributions of the participating national government agencies, local government units, and other stakeholders in advancing the Task Force’s programs and initiatives.
Moving forward, the JRTF-NCR Secretariat remains committed to sustaining whole-of-government coordination, meaningful community engagement, LGU-led initiatives, and practical convergence mechanisms in support of peace, security, and inclusive development in the National Capital Region.
