The Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) held its Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) and Earthquake Contingency Planning activity, from September 22-25, 2025 at the Chalet Hotel in Baguio City. In line with reinforcing the agency’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted delivery of essential services in the event of a major seismic event, the activity was facilitated by Ms. Jan Rose Carganilla-Bravo, Science Research Specialist II of the Department of Science and Technology-National Capital Region. 

The updated plans were developed in coordination with key representatives from the different divisions of the regional contingent of the DILG-NCR, during a series of workshops conducted in the said activity. The revised PSCP and Contingency Plan include a detailed Impact Analysis identifying critical services, infrastructure vulnerabilities, and personnel dependencies. 

The assessment enables the agency to map out realistic scenarios based on projected earthquake intensities, particularly in light of the “Big One” scenario affecting Metro Manila. This collaborative approach ensures the plan’s alignment with national disaster resilience strategies and scientific risk assessments.

“Updating our Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) and our Earthquake Contingency Plan (CP) is not just about compliance; it is about ensuring that when disaster strikes, we are ready to respond effectively and continue to serve our constituents without interruption.,” said Finance and Administrative Division Chief Edgar Pacaño. “Let us carry the lessons and insights from today forward, not only as knowledge, but as a renewed call to action. The work does not end here. Let us continue to build a culture of readiness, grounded in cooperation, accountability, and unwavering public service.”
