The Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) officially launched the book Monday Mood Boost 2025: Mindset Shifts and Reflections from DILG-NCR Public Servants Committed to Good Local Governance during the Regional Flag Raising Ceremony held at the DILG-NCR Regional Office in North Avenue, Quezon City, on May 11, 2026. The book is a compilation of motivational reflections and inspiring stories shared by DILG-NCR personnel throughout 2025.
More than a collection of uplifting messages, the coffee table book highlights the human side of public service—capturing the resilience, dedication, and shared experiences of DILG-NCR employees behind every program and accomplishment.
In her keynote message, DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, the visionary behind the Monday Mood Boost initiative, emphasized that public service today requires not only competence and adaptability, but also resilience, purpose, and compassion.
“The Monday Mood Boost initiative reminds us that every Monday is an opportunity to refocus, recharge, and renew our dedication as public servants. As we launch this book today, may the messages and reflections of our colleagues inspire us to continue supporting one another, finding purpose in our work, and embracing every challenge with courage and optimism,” Regional Director Agustin mentioned.
Finance and Administration Division Chief Edgar A. Pacaño, Jr. highlighted the initiative as a reflection of compassionate and transformative leadership. He also emphasized how the initiative brought forward the stories of DILG-NCR employees, helping strengthen public connection and engagement through relatable human-interest storytelling.
“For the first time, we have brought forward the authentic faces and voices of the DILG-NCR—sharing the stories behind the service, the thoughts behind the actions, and the humanity behind the institution. The strong social media engagement generated by the Monday Mood Boost posts proves that when we tell genuine human-interest stories, people listen, connect, and believe,” Division Chief Pacaño stated.
Meanwhile, Human Resource Section Chief Jonathan Albert N. Timbol III described the coffee table book as a testament to the resilience of DILG-NCR personnel. He further stressed that effective governance begins with a workforce that is inspired, supported, and genuinely cared for.
“The Monday Mood Boost captures the quiet strength behind every challenge and the shared commitment that drives us to serve with purpose each day. In every page, we see not only stories of stress and recovery, but also renewed clarity, deeper connection, and a stronger sense of mission,” Section Chief Timbol said.
As the launch concluded, DILG-NCR reaffirmed that meaningful public service begins with empowered people, strengthening its commitment to a workplace culture that values wellness, compassion, resilience, and people-centered leadership.
More than a publication, the DILG-NCR Monday Mood Boost 2025 Book stands as a symbol of hope, humanity, and resilience in public service—a reminder that behind every successful government initiative are people whose stories, well-being, and dedication truly matter.
