The Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG NCR) through both its regional and field contingents participated in the 2025 International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) at the SM By the Bay, Roxas Boulevard, and Barangay Bagumbayan North, in the Cities of Pasay and Navotas, respectively, on September 20, 2025.

With the theme “Clean Seas Against the Climate Crisis,” the activity aims to encourage communities to remove various marine litter from shorelines and waterways. The 2025 International Coastal Clean-up is part of a global movement observed in different countries, emphasizing that protecting oceans and coastal ecosystems is a shared responsibility. This serves not only as a clean-up drive but also as an awareness campaign, reminding the public of the importance of proper waste management and the urgent need to take action against plastic pollution.

The active participation of DILG-NCR in the 2025 International Coastal Clean-up underscores the Department’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable governance. By joining this global movement, DILG-NCR reaffirms its dedication to fostering cleaner, safer, and more resilient coastal communities.
