The Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) further strengthens its managerial bench with the recent appointment of DILG Malabon Director Jess Marie D. A. Acoba, Local Government Operations Officer VIII, as Career Executive Service Officer (CESO) V.
In his thanksgiving speech, Director Acoba shared how his professional growth in the Regional Office enabled him to engage in various programs, work collaboratively and humbly with both technical and administrative personnel, and, most importantly, contribute to the formulation of implementation policies that truly serve the people, beyond merely creating programs for execution.
“Local governance is the new governance. As implementers of government programs, we bring these initiatives to the ground where service truly happens. As DILG, we are in the best position to ensure and uphold public interest over political interest,” Director Acoba emphasized.
He also highlighted the importance of program audits, noting that these set standards for good governance and capacity development. “Understanding these audits allows us to effectively gauge LGU performance and ensure that our efforts create meaningful impact for the people,” he added.
In closing, Director Acoba underscored the need for public servants to persevere despite the challenges of government service, reminding everyone that public service is a calling anchored on integrity and dedication to the public interest.
Congratulations, City Director Jess, on your appointment as Career Executive Service Officer V. Your DILG-NCR family is proud of you!
