
In continuation of this year’s National Women’s Month Celebration, the Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training on March 12, 2026, at the DILG-NCR Regional Office, North Avenue, Quezon City.
Attended by Regional and Field Office personnel, the training sought to enhance participants’ understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles of Gender and Development (GAD).
The session was facilitated by LGOO V Dennis R. de Paz, Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) Section Chief and a member of the DILG-NCR GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Committee on Personnel Welfare.
During the two-hour training, LGOO V de Paz discussed key topics, including gender milestones, gender roles, agents of gender socialization, gender issues, and gender sensitivity, highlighting their significance in understanding gender dynamics and promoting a more inclusive workplace and society.
Concluding the activity, DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, expressed her gratitude for the active engagement of participants, urging them to uphold the values of inclusivity, respect, and equal opportunity in public service.
As part of the Women LEAD: Advancing Human Resource Development by Fostering Inclusive, Resilient, Safe, and Transformative Spaces (HRD FIRSTS), the said initiative underscores the Department’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of its personnel to foster safe and inclusive workplaces and advance gender-responsive practices across the region.
