The Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) proudly recognized the City Government of Marikina for its exceptional achievements in governance, securing Top 1 in the Local Government Compliance Assessment (LGUCA) at the regional level and Top 2 in the Manila Bayani Incentives and Awards at the national level under the Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program.

DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the Marikina Local Government Unit, commending its outstanding performance and steadfast commitment to excellence in public service. She emphasized that these recognitions affirm Marikina’s position as one of the leading local government units in the country.

These accomplishments underscore the city’s consistent implementation of best practices in liquid and solid waste management, as well as its humane and strategic approach to addressing the needs of informal settler families.

In the program, Marikina City Director Raymond Gerard E. de Asis delivered the welcoming message, setting the tone for the celebration and commending the city’s dedication to responsive and accountable governance.
