
The Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) proudly recognized the City Government of Marikina for its exceptional achievements in governance, securing Top 1 in the Local Government Compliance Assessment (LGUCA) at the regional level and Top 2 in the Manila Bayani Incentives and Awards at the national level under the Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program.
DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the Marikina Local Government Unit, commending its outstanding performance and steadfast commitment to excellence in public service. She emphasized that these recognitions affirm Marikina’s position as one of the leading local government units in the country.

We take pride in your achievements and look forward to seeing Marikina reach even greater heights,” RD Agustin mentioned.
The recognition highlights Marikina City’s unwavering commitment to excellence, as evidenced by its top regional ranking and strong representation of the National Capital Region on the national stage. These accomplishments underscore the city’s consistent implementation of best practices in liquid and solid waste management, as well as its humane and strategic approach to addressing the needs of informal settler families.
In the program, Marikina City Director Raymond Gerard E. de Asis delivered the welcoming message, setting the tone for the celebration and commending the city’s dedication to responsive and accountable governance. The awarding was followed by a heartfelt thanksgiving message from Honorable Mayor Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro, who expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the city’s commitment to sustaining high standards of public service.The DILG National Capital Region reaffirms its steadfast recognition and support of all NCR local government units, honoring their collective efforts in advancing responsive, innovative, and high-impact governance for their communities.
