
On the last leg of the Regional Development Council-National Capital Region Technical Budget Consultation for FY 2027, the Finance and Development Administration Sectoral Committee Members presented their respective organizational budget proposals to panel members composed of the Department of Budget and Management – National Capital Region (DBM-NCR), Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev), Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Philippine Statistics Authority – National Capital Region representing Regional Statistics Committee and Regional Special Committee on SDGs, and Regional Committee on Devolution. The budget consultation was held last February 16, 2026 at MMDA Building, Ortigas, Pasig City.
Parañaque City Mayor and Chairperson of the Finance and Development Administration Committee, Edwin L. Olivarez, presided over the sectoral committee meeting, and served as one of the panelists, alongside DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, as the Co-Chairperson, and RDC-NCR Chairperson MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando S. Artes.
DILG-NCR Assistant Regional Director, Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, CESO IV, presented the DILG-NCR’s budget proposal to the committee panel, along with other presenters from PIA-NCR, NCRPO, NCRPO, BJMP-NCR. BFP-NCR, and MMDA.
The budget proposals were evaluated based on their alignment with the Marcos Administration’s 8-point Socioeconomic Agenda and the NCR’s Regional Development Plan.
As the final presentations concluded, the consultation reaffirmed that the FY 2027 budget is more than a financial exercise as it is a strategic blueprint for the future of the National Capital Region. Through rigorous evaluation, open dialogue, and strong inter-agency collaboration led by the Regional Development Council – National Capital Region, the sector demonstrated its unified resolve to ensure that every peso proposed is purposeful, performance-driven, and responsive to the evolving needs of Metro Manila.
Anchored on the Marcos Administration’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda and the NCR Regional Development Plan, the collective commitment of the member-agencies signals a shared determination to pursue inclusive growth, institutional resilience, and sustainable development. As the region moves forward in refining and advancing its FY 2027 proposals, all member-agencies stand firm in its mission: to translate sound planning into tangible progress and to build a stronger, more future-ready NCR for all.
