The Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) through its Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) participated in the One-Day Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Training Course facilitated by the Capacity Building and Training Section (CBTS) of the Office of Civil Defense – National Capital Region (OCD-NCR) last July 23, 2026 at the New MMDA Building, Pasig City.

The capacity development aimed to improve and reinforce current knowledge and behaviors necessary to promote community-level engagement and involvement in DRRM initiatives, in line with the observance of the National  Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM), in accordance with Executive Order Number 29, issued on June 28, 2017.

Participants who attended the training course are expected to level up technical support and monitoring for Local Government Units (LGUs) across the National Capital Region, ensuring that DRRM-related programs are translated into meaningful and practical solutions that empower communities to become prepared during disasters.

DILG-NCR remains committed and dedicated to empowering communities through the conduct of various DRRM initiatives, embedding a culture of disaster preparedness and resilience.
