The DILG National Capital Region participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the ceremony in Camp Aguinaldo was attended by the Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III. 

Simultaneously, DILG-NCR personnel located at the Annex Building of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) premises along North Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City participated in the drill. The activity aimed at enhancing preparedness for high magnitude earthquakes along the West Valley Fault, commonly referred to as “The Big One.” 

Aside from the DILG-NCR, tenants and other SRA personnel participated in the simulation, with key focal persons per agency guiding participants through evacuation procedures and emphasizing the importance of emergency response protocols within office and government building settings.

The DILG-NCR reaffirmed its commitment in institutionalizing disaster preparedness measures and ensuring that local communities are equipped and empowered to respond effectively during major seismic events.
