Recognizing the importance of employee well-being in fostering a healthy, productive, and engaged workforce, the DILG – National Capital Region kicked off its Monthly Employee Engagement and Wellness (EEW) Session on September 24, 2026, at the DILG-NCR Activity Area.
As its inaugural activity, personnel from the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), Finance and Administrative Division (FAD), and Office of the Regional Director (ORD) participated in the “Master of Disaster” game, an educational and interactive activity developed by the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), a Filipino NGO, to enhance participants’ awareness and understanding of disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM).
The activity was facilitated by the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) through the Support for the Local Governance Program. To open the activity, LGOO III Ramon Caballero and DMO IV Sherlynn Mae Lucas provided the participants with the game mechanics and instructions.
The Monthly EEW Session was developed in response to the results of the Training Needs Assessment (TNA) conducted earlier this year under the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS) Program. The assessment gathered inputs from personnel across the Regional Office’s various units and Field Offices, with workload, time management, and organizational capacity identified among the key professional challenges experienced by DILG-NCR personnel.
In response to these findings, DILG-NCR established the Monthly EEW Session as a complementary RIDS intervention under its Wellness Program, providing personnel with opportunities to recharge, connect, and strengthen workplace engagement while supporting their overall well-being.
Through this initiative, DILG-NCR continues to promote a work environment that values not only professional development and organizational performance, but also the well-being and meaningful engagement of its human resource.
