As part of its nationwide rollout, the Panatag Pilipinas campaign was recently showcased at SM Mall of Asia on July 31, 2025, rallying communities around the importance of disaster awareness, preparedness, and resilience.

Spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the campaign empowers every Filipino to stay informed, ready, and resilient in the face of natural and man-made hazards. 

“With Panatag Pilipinas, we aim to amplify this message and empower our countrymen, not just as passive recipients of information, but as active participants in promoting safety and resilience within their households and communities,” said Assistant Secretary Bernardo Rafaelito R. Alejandro IV, Officer-In-Charge of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), in his keynote message.

Among those present in the said launch were Director Caesar N. Agnir of the Office of Civil Defense, FCSupt. Wilberto Rico Neil A Kwan Tiu of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III of the DILG National Capital Region, Mr. Steven T. Tan President of SM Supermalls, Engr. Liza Silero, Vice President of Corporate Compliance of SM Supermalls, VADM Alexander P. Pama (Ret) of the ARISE Global Board and SM Prime Holdings, Ms. Fides B. Borja, Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World Bank, and Mr. Silvestre Z. Barrameda, Jr, Executive Director of the National Resilience Council. 

The campaign is proudly championed by Panatag Pilipinas Ambassador, Maj. Jose Sixto Dantes, and is driven by a robust public-private collaboration involving the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), The World Bank, Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), ARISE Philippines, SM Prime, and SM Supermalls.

In a powerful move to broaden its reach, public service videos from the Panatag Pilipinas campaign will be shown in SM Cinemas nationwide, bringing life-saving information to millions of viewers across the country. The Panatag Pilipinas campaign serves as a unifying call for all Filipinos to take an active role in disaster preparedness, promoting awareness, fostering resilience, and ultimately helping build a safer, more secure nation for all.
