The Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) underscored its role as key collaborator in building institutional linkages as the Association of Information Officers in Metro Manila (AIMM) convened a productive luncheon with strategic partners to strengthen communication networks and synchronize public information initiatives across the region. The luncheon was held at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City on February 6, 2026.
Strengthening this collaborative ecosystem is Meralco, a key private-sector partner dedicated to advancing consumer protection through proactive and transparent public information. The luncheon was hosted by Mr. Agapito “Manong Joe” R. Zaldarriaga, Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications of Meralco, highlighting the importance of public-private cooperation in effective governance.
Representing the DILG-NCR, Regional Information Officer Ronald Portales joined the institutional engagement space and highlighted the Department’s commitment to building bridges among local government units, national government agencies, and the private sector to ensure cohesive and citizen-centered information delivery.
The luncheon meeting served as a dynamic platform for participating agencies to share their upcoming programs, exchange insights, and explore opportunities for collaboration, most especially laying the groundwork for future joint initiatives. Through open dialogue and alignment of priorities, the gathering helped reinforce DILG-NCR’s continuing efforts to connect institutions, harmonize messaging, and foster sustainable partnerships that extend beyond the event.
The convergence reflects AIMM’s collective vision of a resilient and inclusive information network, one strengthened by strong leadership in collaboration and linkage-building, ensuring that accurate, timely, and relevant information reaches every Filipino and supports progress across Metro Manila.
This initiative strongly aligns with DILG’s vision of a unified, responsive, and people-centered communication ecosystem. By fostering linkages, strengthening Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC) initiatives, and opening avenues for sustained cooperation among government and private stakeholders, DILG-NCR continues to advance its goal of ensuring that accurate, timely, and meaningful information empowers communities, reinforces accountability, strengthens governance, and brings government closer to the people.
