The Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) held its Fifth Regional Team Conference (RTC) on July 30, 2025 at the Taguig City Hall in Taguig City. The Regional Team Conference focused on the discussion of technical updates on the accomplishments of the DILG-NCR based on the Annual Operations Plan and Budget (AOPB), and the upcoming activities of DILG-NCR for the month of August, including the continued implementation of the Newly Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service (NEO PLUS+++) Program, Barangay Resilience Advocates Volunteer Group – Advanced Knowledge and Operations (BRAVE AKO) 2025, and Performance Audits for Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) and the Peace and Order Council (POC).

City Councilor Jomil Bryan C. Serna of the 2nd District of Taguig City, welcomed the participants to the City of Taguig on behalf of Taguig City Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani” Cayetano. Councilor Serna expressed gratitude of the City of Taguig to DILG-NCR for being a reliable institution in the provision of technical assistance to the City on aspects of local governance.

During the RTC, the DILG-NCR regional management honored the retirement of City Director Gemma D. Dancil of the DILG Taguig Field Office and Officer-in-Charge Bernadette G. Ferino of the Muntinlupa Field Office. Councilor Serna expressed the City’s heartfelt appreciation to Director Dancil for her unwavering commitment to public service, which significantly led to the enhancement of local governance in Taguig.

The Regional Team Conference also reaffirmed its commitment to public service, emphasizing the role of the Regional Office in the fulfillment of the directives of the President, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., during his State of the Nation Address last July 28, 2025, particularly on local disaster resilience, flood prevention and environmental protection.

In her message, DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III congratulated the Field Offices and Regional Operating Units for successfully facilitating the conduct of Executive Briefings for our newly-elected or re-elected Local Chief Executives and LGU Officials.

Through the RTC, the DILG-NCR underscored its steadfast commitment to strengthening local governance and advancing the priorities of the national government through collaborative efforts and responsive public service. The event served not only as a platform to assess accomplishments and plan forward-looking initiatives but also as a celebration of leadership, dedication, and partnership among the region’s local government stakeholders. 

With continued coordination and a shared vision, DILG-NCR moves forward with renewed purpose, ready to meet the challenges ahead and uphold its mission of empowering communities across the National Capital Region.
