The DILG National Capital Region continues to take steps forward with the numerous accomplishments and accolades bestowed to the Department in 2024. With recognition given to the regional and field office levels, as well as to different divisions and units, the Department ponders on the outpour of acclaim in the past year.

On February 26, 2024, the Department was conferred the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) Bronze Award: Maturity Level II which was awarded by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) at the DILG NCR Regional Office. The award signified the recognition of the Department’s continuous upscaling of human resource management practices, and development of expertise in customizing technical assistance and developmental interventions.

In the National Civil Society Organization (CSO) Conference held on September 18, 2024 in Clark, Pampanga, the DILG-NCR was awarded the Pioneer CSO Academy Awardee, for its efforts in effectively engaging with localities towards a more participatory and responsive governance.

The Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP) recognized the Accounting Section, headed by Accounting Section Chief Rhodalyn O. Panganiban, as one of the Outstanding Accounting Offices for Fiscal Year 2024 at the AGAP Convention in Cebu City last October 9, 2024. The said recognition commended the Department for having exemplarily met the criteria of the AGAP Awards Committee on accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and compliance with accounting and budget rules and regulations.

On December 5, 2024, the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) awarded the DILG-NCR as the second top performing region in the implementation of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) at the Hotel Casiana and Events Center in Cavite. Headed by the Local Government Capability Development Division Chief Luigi D.C. Pilarta and EODB Regional Focal Person LGOO III Engr. Nicholas Ray B. Badiable, the Department was recognized for its exemplary performance in fund utilization and submission of timely reports on streamlining systems and improving competitiveness in the ease of doing business.

In the Capacity Development Awards for Catalysts of Excellence (CapDev ACE) 2024 Gabi ng Parangal held at the Manila Hotel last December 12, 2024, the DILG-NCR managed to win both of its nominations for Dagitab ng Paglilingkod and Bugkos ng Bayan. The Dagitab ng Paglilingkod recipient, Local Government Operations Officer III (formerly Administrative Aide IV) Anthony O. Samar was recognized for being instrumental in building the competencies of Bids and Awards Committee members and other concerned personnel, as well as in streamlining procurement processes within the DILG-NCR. The Bugkos ng Bayan award, which was received by DILG Pasig Field Office, recognized the efforts of the DILG Pasig Field personnel led by City Director Visitacion C. Martinez, CESO V, in playing a pivotal role in strengthening efforts toward advancing transparent and inclusive governance in the said locality as part of the Pasig City Civil Society Organization (CSO) Academy.

Fresh from the awarding of 14 NCR local government units in the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Awards, the Department again received recognition from the 2024 SGLG Maaasahang Katuwang sa Pamamalakad Awards ereld at the Manila Prince Hotel last December 17, 2024. The DILG-NCR was hailed as the Best Regional Office (1st Place) while SGLG Focal Person and Local Government Operations Officer VI Marda Alina R. Dumaoang-Acoba from the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED) was recognized as the Best SGLG Regional Focal Person (1st Place), with the recipients being celebrated for their dedication and commitment in the effective implementation of the SGLG Program for 2024.

Before the end of the year, the Legal Unit of the DILG-NCR, headed by Atty. Jeremiah T. Salamero and Atty. Racel S. Jose, was commended for its perfect resolution and compliance rate, having acted upon 100% of its complaints from January to December of 2024 by the Hotline 8888 Agency. In the resolution and compliance statistics, the National Capital Region was able to act upon all issued tickets within 72 hours (or 3 days) for all twelve months of the calendar year, which signified exemplary performance for the DILG-NCR Legal Unit.

As the Department made strides in superb accomplishments over the past year, the DILG-NCR personnel has always pledged its commitment and wholeheartedness in performing its roles and functions as exceptional public servants.
