The DILG-NCR facilitated the conduct of the July 18, 2021 Special Civil Service Examinations at the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) in Quezon City. A total of forty-one examinees, whose test applications were sent to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) last June 15, took the exams, with nineteen coming from DILG-NCR, fifteen from DILG-CALABARZON and seven from DILG-MIMAROPA.

The nineteen examinees are currently employed by DILG-NCR. Their career prospects are expected to improve dramatically once they pass the examinations and acquire the civil service eligibility required of government employees with permanent appointments.

The DILG-NCR initiated the holding of the special Civil Service Examinations with the approval of DILG Central Office and the CSC. The initiative helped ease some of the pressure CSC is experiencing because of current COVID-19 restrictions and the resulting shortage of qualified test administrators and proctors.

All throughout the process, the strict guidelines, procedures and standards prescribed by the CSC for the conduct of examinations were strictly adhered to. Notwithstanding current COVID-19 restrictions and with the facilities of the PPSC made available for test-taking, examinees from DILG-CALABARZON and DILG-MIMAROPA were readily accommodated together with those from DILG-NCR.

The DILG Central Office presented DILG-NCR with a Certificate of Appreciation for the successful conduct and facilitation of the civil service exams and in recognition of the initiative shown by DILG-NCR to broaden the opportunity for DILG employees to acquire the civil service eligibility despite the restrictions brought about by the pandemic.#
