The DILG National Capital Region, together with the Department of Education, and the Marikina Schools Division Office, conducted the “Youth’s Choice: A Drug-Free Life” on November 20, 2025, at the Marikina Convention Center, Marikina City, highlighting the unity and shared responsibility of building safe and drug-resilient communities.

DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III, in her welcoming remarks, underscored the significance of Youth’s Choice as part of a national effort to empower young people to become informed, engaged, and proactive partners in creating drug-free communities. “One choice can change the path your life will take,” Director Agustin emphasized.

The event gathered Junior and Senior High School Students from across NCR and key stakeholders, including the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Association of ADACs, and the City Government of Marikina, represented by the Honorable Mayor Marjorie Ann A. Teodoro. Their presence reinforced the region’s commitment to a whole-of-government and whole-of-community approach aligned with national strategies.

The culminating activity served as the platform for the presentation of shortlisted outputs created by students who participated in the NCR-wide Creative Advocacy Campaign, a series of activities that included Designing Digital Information Materials and Short Film Making. These entries showcased new perspectives and innovative approaches, reflecting the commitment of young people to contribute meaningfully to advocacy programs.

By recognizing outstanding participants and showcasing collaborative efforts, the activity strengthened NCR’s unified stand in supporting evidence-based, community-driven solutions toward a drug-free future.
