The Department of the Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) extends its highest commendation to the City Government of Valenzuela, led by Mayor Weslie Gatchalian, for the successful inauguration of the Public Safety Center in Barangay Canumay West on February 24, 2026.

This landmark facility represents a significant leap forward in integrated urban security. By centralizing the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) District II Headquarters, the Northern Police District (NPD) Forensic Group, and the NPD Anti-Cybercrime Group, the center creates a unified hub for critical emergency services. This strategic co-location significantly reduces response times and enhances the operational synergy required to combat modern criminal threats, including in the digital landscape.

The establishment of this center is a powerful manifestation of Valenzuela City’s proactive stance on public safety. Beyond serving its own residents, this hub is poised to act as a vital resource for neighboring LGUs, reinforcing the collective security of the Northern NCR district. By investing in advanced forensic and anti-cybercrime capabilities, the city is not merely reacting to crime but is building the technical infrastructure necessary for a more resilient and future-ready community.

The DILG-NCR reaffirms its steadfast support for Valenzuela City’s initiatives. As the Department continues to monitor and assist in the regional pursuit of peace and order, it recognizes the City Government of Valenzuela as a pivotal instrument in the collective mission to maintain a safe and secure National Capital Region.
