In line with the DILG Marikina’s MarLINKS initiative, particularly under its LAKAS LUPON component, the DILG Marikina Field Office spearheaded a benchmarking activity for members of the Lupon Tagapamayapa from Barangays Parang, Tañong, Kalumpang, and San Roque at Barangay Concepcion Uno on July 8, 2026.

The activity aimed to provide participants with valuable learning opportunities by showcasing best practices and effective strategies in implementing the Katarungang Pambarangay system. Through this benchmarking initiative, Lupon members were able to exchange insights, observe innovative approaches, and identify practical measures that can further strengthen the delivery of grassroots justice and enhance amicable dispute resolution within their respective barangays.

The benchmarking activity was facilitated by Cluster Head LGOO VII Christiane Millabas and LGOO VI Veronidia Catapang, who underscored the importance of continuous learning, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among Lupon members in fostering peaceful, resilient, and responsive communities.

As part of the DILG MarLINKS program, the LAKAS LUPON component seeks to build the capacity of Lupon Tagapamayapa members by promoting excellence, replicating best practices, and reinforcing the vital role of the Katarungang Pambarangay in ensuring accessible, community-based conflict resolution.

Through initiatives such as this, DILG Marikina reaffirms its commitment to empowering barangays with the knowledge, skills, and best practices necessary to strengthen local governance and uphold the principles of peaceful and effective dispute settlement.
