The first internal organizational meeting for the year of the Center for the Advancement of Local Governance (CALG), the DILG-NCR’s Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC), was held on January 14, 2022 via Zoom.

The CALG, officially launched through a ceremonial signing with its Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board on November 19, 2021, is an innovation which aims to ensure the continuous delivery of responsive capacity building interventions to NCR local government units (LGUs) that promote the advancement of local governance in the region.

Twenty-eight (28) CALG team members attended the meeting, which was led by CALG Adviser DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, and presided by CALG Core Team Project Manager OIC-Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez.

The first item on the agenda was the reorganization of the team, followed by a presentation on the key points of the results of the assessments conducted by the Local Government Academy over the past two (2) years, as well as the major takeaways for the LGRRC-NCR.

To address the key points identified in these assessments, RD Agustin enjoined all team members to work together towards making the CALG and the DILG-NCR a knowledge-centric organization through effective knowledge sharing and innovation.

OIC-ARD Atty. Baltazar-Cortez laid down the next steps to be taken for the first quarter of the year, including the finalization of the Regional Order on the reorganization of the CALG team; the conduct of a Commitment Ceremony to be attended by all CALG team members; an Internal KM Assessment; a strategic planning session; and the Convening of CALG Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board (MSAB).
