
Concluding this yearâs BRAVE AKO Training Rollout in Quezon City, barangay officials and sectoral representatives reviewed key policies and operational standards on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and the Protection of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) on August 6, 2025, at Ardenhills Suites, Scout Albano, Quezon City.
The session, which comprised Module 105 of the BRAVE AKO Training Program, was facilitated by Social Welfare Officers III Angelica Mae P. Espino, RSW and Angel M. Roxas, RSW of the Disaster Response Operations Management Division under the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Apart from technical guidelines, the discussion also emphasized essential principles and ethical frameworks that ensure effective camp coordination and management in times of crisis.
Towards the end, Local Government Capability Development Division Assistant Chief Maria Jasmin D. Diaz delivered her closing remarks, commending the participants for successfully completing the three-day training. She then stressed that disaster preparedness should be an integral part of everyday governance, urging them to return to their communities with a renewed commitment to readiness and resilience.
The BRAVE AKO Training Program Rollout in Quezon City, spearheaded by the DILG-NCR in collaboration with the DILG Quezon City Field Office, engaged a total of 71 participants from 19 barangays within the buffer hazard zone of the West Valley Fault System. This milestone highlights the Departmentâs commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of local communities within the region through comprehensive preparedness and proactive governance.
