In an effort to boost the emergency response capability of the police and local government units in the National Capital Region, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Juanito Victor C. Remulla led the blessing and turnover ceremony of unified emergency service response motorcycles on September 23, 2026, at the NCRPO Grandstand, Camp Bagong Diwa, City of Taguig.

Seventy-three (73) motorcycle units were distributed to the Manila Police District, Quezon City Police District, Pasay City Police Station, Pasig City Police Station, and Taguig City Police Station.

SILG Remulla emphasized that motorcycles can navigate Metro Manila’s roads and narrow streets more efficiently, enabling police personnel to respond more quickly to emergencies.

The ceremonial turnover brought together local chief executives and their representatives, along with police officials, highlighting the importance of strengthened coordination between local governments and law enforcement in ensuring timely and responsive public safety services.

SILG Remulla called on the police and LGUs to uphold the trust and confidence of the public by putting government resources to their intended purpose and ensuring that these translate into efficient public service.

The ceremony was also graced by the presence of DILG Undersecretary for Public Safety Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, PNP Deputy Chief for Operations PLtGen Wilson Joseph Lopez, NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGen Christopher Abrahano, BFP Officer-in-Charge Wilberto Rico Neil Kwan Tiu, and DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes L. Agustin, CESO III.
