16 families get new homes in Dubai-BASECO

New homes await 16 informal settler families (ISFs) at the Dubai-BASECO housing project in the City of Manila. 

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada led the awarding of the housing units to the beneficiaries last March 27, together with DILG Manila City Director Atty. Rolynne Javier and key city officials.

Policy for community-based rehabilitation tackled in 2nd RPOC meeting

As part of the intensified efforts of NCR LGUs against illegal drugs, a draft policy for community-based rehabilitation programs (CBRPs) was discussed in the second Regional Peace and Order Council-NCR (RPOC-NCR) meeting.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, chair of the RPOC-NCR led the meeting held in Valenzuela City, which was attended by Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco, and Pateros Municipal Mayor Miguel Ponce III.

Makati equips barangays on proper handling of drug cases

A capacity building for barangays in Makati is currently being conducted as part of the city’s strengthened efforts in combatting illegal drugs.  

The Makati City Peace and Order Council (MCPOC), in partnership with the DILG Makati Field Office and the Office of the City Prosecutor will conduct a capability building activity for the city’s 33 barangays, particularly of its barangay officials and barangay tanods on the salient provisions of RA 9165, Warrantless Arrest, Evidence Handling, Court Testimonies and other competencies as force multipliers.
