LGUs and Relocatees find Hope in DILG-NCR’s Resettlement Governance Approach


No operational community clinic and hospital, no available school conducive for learning and development, poor residential construction, insufficient power supply - these are some of the current and most troublesome issues of the residents of Golden Horizons, Barangay Hugo Perez; a relocation site for Informal Settler Families that used to live in danger areas along the eight waterways within the National Capital Region. These data were gathered during the relocation site assessment in Trece Martires, Cavite on November 20-21, 2014.

TEDx DILG is part of the Urban Renewal Program as a forum for promoting ideas and new knowledge on urban governance.  Representatives from LGUs in the executive and legislative branches and DILG personnel attended the activity.

UBAS MOA Signing

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by ranking officials from DILG, PNP, and the Liga ng mga Barangay, Church and Lay organizations, and media on September 9, 2014 at the Arzobispado de Manila.  Gracing the event were Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, Novaliches Bishop Antonio Tobias, Kalookan Bishop Franciso de Leon, DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, Undersecretary for Local Government Austere Panadero, and the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas President Atty. Edmund Abesamis.
